In the Jamaica Gleaner today, Rev. Clinton Chisholm decided to speak again about the reparative therapy ban in California for minors and the Masters and Johnson book, Homosexuality in Perspective so we once again have offered to do a rebuttal. It can be found here: http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20121122/cleisure/cleisure3.html.
AGFC submitted a letter to the Jamaica Observer recently calling on anti-gay organisations such as the Jamaica Coalition for a Healthy Society to respond. It can be found here: http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/letters/Keeping-the-buggery-law-is-preposterous_13042100
Paul Kokoski is an ultra-conservative anti-gay activist who lives in Hamilton, Ontario in Canada. He has written many letters to the Jamaican press, often with an extremist tone. He has called gays “Nazis” and has said that the Wests legalisation of homosexuality has led to the “proliferation of crime”. He is probably upset that Canadian values don’t fit so well with his and has started with his international anti-gay “advocacy” such as the letter today in the Observer where he accuses blacks for being racist because they supported Barack Obama despite his stance on abortion and homosexuality.
AGFC wrote a letter to the Jamaica Observer recently and it has been published.

There are people who oppose same sex marriage and choose compare it to everything that is imaginable. They make arguments comparing it to paedophilia, inter-specie marriage, group marriage and even self marriage. Popular anti-gay activist Doreen West, wife of anti-gay activist Wayne West, did that right here in this letter to the editor :http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/letters/Making-a-mockery-of-marriage-_11559962
Isn’t it only fair that AGFC also gets the chance to compare? Well of course, anti-gay activists can’t be the only ones to have a little fun.
For nearly 20 years, anti-gay American Christian fundamentalists have been pushing the notion that there is a secret “homosexual agenda” that is run by a worldwide central authority that instructs “militant homosexual activists” on how to “destroy the family” and “brainwash people into accepting homosexual behaviour as normal”.
Well, AGFC has been aware for quite sometime of three documents they claim proves this so-called “hidden agenda”. LGBT advocates need to be aware of these as though it might sound silly there are many anti-gay activists in Jamaica who use these documents to push this conspiracy theory as they actually believe they are central and important to the LGBT movement.
Popular anti-gay activist Shirley Richards decides to appear in a documentary made by a coalition called “Stand for Families Worldwide” which claims it exists to “expose the cultural imperialism pushed by the United Nations and by Western countries—especially the United States—and stop them from pushing a destructive sexual rights agenda on families and children worldwide“.
On their website they claim that criminalising homosexuality is a tool to help to control the spread of HIV/AIDS.
On Tuesday September 18, 2012, Television Jamaica(TVJ) aired the programme “Religious Hardtalk” hosted by Ian Boyne where he brought on popular anti-gay activists Shirley Richards, attorney and former head of the Lawyer’s Christian Fellowship, and Dr. Wayne West who is a senior lecturer at the University of the West Indies, Mona(UWI) and a consultant radiologist.
Despite the fact that the previous week’s discussion was limited mainly to the topic of atheism and secularism, Ian Boyne decided to allow these two activists to have their time to speak about homosexuality and abortion even though it is a programme created for religious discussion. Surely, atheism and secularism is not necessarily an opposing argument to the pro-life and anti-gay arguments about homosexuality so the LGBT community needs to have a rebuttal to Tuesday’s programme and do so fast.
Here at AGFC we do not apologise for debunking the scientifically-challenged anti-gay lobby, even if we have to go back in history. In November, 2011 a Christian lawyer by the name of Mark Ramsay decided to try and offer an “intelligent” defence of the buggery law.
Ignorance is truly bliss.
